This Shrinking Town Still Shines

From a distance I stare at the night sky
Far away – brightened by red lights
This shrinking town still shines

Every day I walk through decaying streets
Empty sadness in every face I meet
Will I become like them?

How often I thought I was sick of this place
Just wanted to leave like all the others
New horizons were calling me to disappear
To leave this town behind

Down below the hill
The city looks so small
So peaceful as the setting sun
enlightens your face

I never thought how colourful this place could be
The red of the sun shining through green trees
Now that my heart is bound to this dying place
This shrinking town still shines
